This is an unusual Mexican mineral specimen not for either species, but for the combination of snow-white Hemimorphite bundles which are accompanied by lustrous and colorless Calcite crystals on a contrasting orange-brown limonite matrix. Four divergent clusters of translucent white, bladed Hemimorphite crystals to 2 cm in length adorn a center edge of the piece and the remainder of the specimen is embellished with colorless, transparent, very glassy, 0.5 to 2.5 cm bladed to disc-like Calcite crystals in singles and loose groups. The brilliant snow-white color and luster of the Hemimorphite along with the lustrous, gemmy Calcites against the limonite makes this a beautiful specimen; and its perfection, size and aesthetics make it a desirable one. Old piece, from Burrilo inventory through a recent collection acquisition of Richard Rossi.
