This comes from the same area as the chalcopyrite balls we handled back in 2019, though these brassy formations are much larger, in mammillary, botryoidal crystals compared to the smaller "blueberry" sized chalcopyrites from the older find. The chalcopyrite growths are on and amongst merlot-colored rhombohedral calcite crystals, stained by iron (hematite). These just arrived in a small shipment in June 2022, and we received just 3 pieces. The other two were placed privately, but we kept this piece to post publicly here on iRocks.com.
