Smoky Quartz scepter
Pazun-seik pegmatite deposit, Nam-peik, Kyatpyin (North) Zone, Mandalay Region, Myanmar (Burma)
Small Cabinet, 10.0 x 3.5 x 2.5 cm
Ex. William (Bill) Larson

From a rare Burmese pegmatite comes this sceptered Smoky Quartz crystal. We haven't seen another like this, and the crystal consists of a commanding Quartz crystal as a foundation for a distinctly geometric sceptered head with a good termination. The crystal faces and edges are sharp with only one tiny ding near the termination, and it's otherwise pristine. Although the piece is frosted on the backside, the front and sides are only slightly frosted, with the main prism face and one of the terminal scepter faces displaying a satin luster ;and they reveal the translucent to transparent smoky interior. A fine, dramatic quartz from an unusual locality from which it seems very little was saved.
