Pegmatites in Burma have produced some nice Phenakites and this toenail is certainly one of them. It has crisp faces and a very nice, complex termination with V-notches that reveal its twinning. It has a mysterious interior as well with what appears to be a turbid phantom subsequently overgrown by a gemmy exterior, especially the top third of the crystal. The Phenakite also hosts numerous, tiny, pale green-brown, barely discernible, acicular Tourmaline crystals in random orientation. The "phantom" and the inclusions add extra character to this great crystal that is contacted on the bottom and the back side. It has a mass of 10.4 grams. IN person, it is much more robust than others of similar height, and the material has low mass, so the mass is deceiving as to visual impact.
