This is a superb, very sharp, glassy, totally transparent Phenakite crystal from Burma with sharp edges and faces, displaying a well developed, shallow-sloped pyramidal termination. It is so sharp and gemmy that it almost looks carved from ice and can be hard to see on a white background! It is a full-sized and competitive-level thumbnail in that although at 3.25 cm tall. It is a large thumbnail if tilted back in a box, or a small miniature if stood upright. It is literally carved and machined in appearance. The crystal is completely limpid with super sharp faces and edges with the absolute perfect termination showing drill-bit twinning that is so highly desirable on these! This lightweight beryllium silicate has a mass of 3.32 grams. The mass of Phenakite is always lower than it visually looks because of its composition. It is a stunning gem crystal of the highest quality for the species. Ex. Bill Larson Burma collection with his label (and Bill brought these back, in the 90s to early 2000s, when it was open! Today, Mogok produces very much less specimen material, and you cannot import it anyhow).
