Dramatic hematite included quartz crystal pair from Morocco, with brick-red color that is uniform and intense throughout: One large and one smaller quartz crystal dominate this piece with the largest 8.5 cm long and the other 4.2 cm in length. These two crystals have a core of colorless to slightly smoky quartz, as can be seen from the underside, that have a later generation of coarse, drusy, hematite included quartz deposited on the exterior resulting in a dramatic and shimmering quartz specimen. It's still not clear if Tinejdad is the actual locality for these attractive ferruginous quartz specimens, but it is one of the few towns in this area and it was originally an oasis at the crossroads for historic desert caravans.
