Malachite included in Quartz
Concepcion del Oro, Zacatecas, Mexico
Miniature, 4.9 x 4.5 x 3.8 cm
Ex. Irv Brown
SOLD
A super showy and sparkly combination quartz and malachite specimen from the famous mines at Concepcion del Oro, Zacatecas, Mexico. This piece is composed of an early generation of fine-grained, translucent quartz upon which spheres of rich, green malachite were placed strategically and artistically then subsequently overgrown by a layer of drusy, scintillating quartz for ultimate effect! The malachite spheres are from 1.5 to 2.0 cm across and are nicely isolated on the piece with one placed right at the top! There is one tiny malachite botryoid on the backside that reveals the radial fibrous structure of the mineral and its intense color. A very three-dimensional and attractive miniature that sits nicely on its own. From the Irv Brown collection of miniatures.
