Quartz var. Amethyst
Kakamunurle Mine, Karur District, Tamil Nadu, India
Small Cabinet, 7.8 x 7.4 x 5.4 cm

A pretty and relatively large, very three-dimensional rosette of Amethyst from India. This unusual find is very distinctive for the shape and composition, unlike other Indian finds (or from anywhere else, for that matter). The piece is composed of a multitude of very lustrous, deep saturated purple Amethyst crystals that start out as translucent milky to pale purple in color at the point of divergence and radiate upward becoming a beautifully saturated purple color and forming a crown of crystals with excellent transparency and luster. Very captivating and attractive. These are very uncommon on the market. Comes with custom engraved acrylic base. Old material from nearly 15 years ago, early 2000's.
