Classic magnetite crystals from the famous locality of Traversella, Italy. The top of this piece is festooned with large, lustrous, metallic, gray-black magnetite crystals to 1.8 cm in maximum dimension set on a matrix of massive magnetite and minor whitish granular calcite for contrast. Most of the crystals are in excellent condition with only minor dings and a few are incomplete. A definitive example of the species from this noted Italian locale. Ex.
