SOLD
Exceptional set of six lustrous and GEMMY Fluorite cubes, on Sphalerite matrix: The Fluorites are water-clear, soft yellow, and superbly lustrous. This is a highly unusual color for any mine, let alone Illinois. There is an outer zone of light blue that is more apparent in person, for added interest. All of the crystals are in excellent condition. The largest of the Fluorites is 2.5 cm. The complex Sphalerites also have very good luster. This was collected in 1995 during pillar robbing at the north end of the ore body, and Ross Lillie notes on his label that he bought the whole pocket and that this was the best single specimen of the pocket. For those who have all the styles from Illinois, I would bet that they do not have THIS style. I had never even seen one like this, myself. This is a top-notch, aesthetic specimen, and it is better in person!
