Prehnite Cast After Anhydrite
Prospect Park Quarry, Prospect Park, Passaic Co., New Jersey, USA
Cabinet, 10.0 x 8.5 x 9.0 cm
SOLD
A crust with smaller fingers is surmounted by a majestic single spire of very lustrous, translucent, light apple-green prehnite, measuring 5 cm in length. Actually this piece is for some reason just a slight bit more yellow than its pocket brethren, in person. A few small lustrous and translucent, colorless crystals of calcite, to 1.2 cm in length, are scattered about the specimen for accent. The bottom face shows evidence of hollow casts of what were once anhydrite. This is one of the most balanced and attractive of its sized specimens here, and is very 3-dimensional and complete. Perhaps my personal favorite among the more isolated "fingers" here
