Prehnite is a fascinating species with many various styles of growth, crystals, and terminations. But, this is so rare in style and so well defined, that it would throw most people for a loop, usually. Such prehnite came out of only a few pockets in the 1980s to early 1990s at the famous Jeffrey Quarry in Quebec, and are quite rare today. We actually know a prehnite-only collector! Charlie Key, in his (second or third) retirement and after selling his large collection of thousands of pieces to Marshall Sussman and myself around 2010, kept his prehnites and built upon them, making for a world class suite of prehnite of all different shapes and styles in this miniature to small cabinet size range. He loved Canada and loved the Jeffrey - and this is his miniature from that fine collection.
