Padre Paraiso, Jequitinhonha valley, Minas Gerais, Brazil
Miniature, 4.2 x 2.5 x 1.5 cm

Most of the pieces from this area we have ever seen are long and elongated. I have seldom seen "small" crystals that are also broad and fat (and thus not just the broken tips off of longer crystals). This is a particularly gemmy, golden crystal with great clarity. It has a 4-5 mm pale aquamarine cap on it, and came from the same pocket, or I swear from its slight style difference in surface texture and its fat breadth, you'd think it came from another mine altogether.
