Scheelite, Fluorite
Cabinet, 9.7 x 7.2 x 4.5 cm
Xianghualing Mine (Hsianghualing Mine), Xianghualing Sn-polymetallic ore field, Linwu Co., Chenzhou Prefecture, Hunan Province, China
A carefully-trimmed specimen showing an unusual combo of sea-foam green fluorite intergrown with a large, complete scheelite crystal. The scheelite is a light tan color, and actually looks a lot more like an Indian powellite than a scheelite! It has fine luster, and measures 4 cm across. The matrix is calcite, which on the backside of the specimen appears as a plate of shiny rhombs.
