This is a highly unusual specimen for the intensity of color to the powellite. The crystal has not only intense orange color, but also a glassy luster that is equally outstanding. The contrast to the matrix of sparkling quartz druse, on which sits bright and lustrous, shimmering apophyllite crystals, just takes the piece to the next level. It is an outstanding piece for the species and locality.
