Azurite, Malachite
Toenail, 3.0 x 2.3 x 1.9 cm
Tsumeb Mine (Tsumcorp Mine), Tsumeb, Otjikoto (Oshikoto) Region, Namibia
A small but really exquisite specimen featuring both PRIMARY and REPLACED azurite crystals (to 1 cm), in such close proximity that one cannot but wonder HOW the heck something like this formed Why didn't the other azurites get replaced by malachite too, at least partially?! Ex. Charlie Key stock.
