Small Cabinet, 5.6 x 3.4 x 2.4 cm
Mun. de Concepcion del Oro, Zacatecas, Mexico
Zacatecas azurites are very difficult to find on the market. They were never plentiful. They are distinguished by having unusually gemmy crystals that are transparent under good light - unlike the vast majority of azurites, which are opaque or nearly opaque. This specimen features a brushy knob of crystals that sticks up from the limonite matrix. Rare specimen of gorgeous gem crystals - azurite at its best form old Mexico workings!
