Exceptional and showy cabinet specimen of numerous superb quality, highly lustrous, sparkling rich lime-green colored "balls" of Wavellite measuring up to 1.2 cm across. The majority of the spheres are complete and in pristine condition. The color saturation and luster are mesmerizing! In addition the piece has an elegant sculptural form giving it depth and three dimensionality unlike so many flat plates. The specimen appears to have been a protected cavity with the bottom being the exposed outside. The bottom shows the continuation of the spheres, up to 1.5 cm across, only coated and/or replaced with an unknown gray and black minerals. There are instances where the green Wavellite can be seen underneath the gray coating. Arkansas produces some of the finest Wavellite in the world and here is an exquisite specimen due to its wonderful aesthetic form, premium luster and phenomenal rich color. This is a choice Wavellite! It is simply one of the finest examples in this small pocket of early 2024, we nicknamed the "Sparkling Pocket" for obvious reasons! This is the best large specimen of the small pocket.
