Cruzeiro Mine was once known as one of the world's best sources of raspberry red tourmaline for facet rough and gemstones. It only recently has a revived lease on life under owners aware of the potential for value in collecting the fine mineral specimens and spending the time and effort to put the collapsed pockets back together to reassemble these gorgeous specimens of natural art. Most pockets here were collapsed when found, and so until modern tech for lab preparation, it was just too much effort to repair specimens. The values were not high enough until modern times anyhow, so the pieces went to cutting rough. Now, they can be repaired, as is this - the specimen is an elegant cluster with 5 clean repairs. It is a fine, aesthetic, complete all around specimen from the famous 2017 raspberry red tourmaline pocket (different people give it different names, but we all know the find!).
