Cavansite is common enough in the gorgeous and typical form of "balls" of vivid blue crystals BUT the style showing textbook stereotypic crystals, elongated and so bright and shimmering that they are almost metallic, is very rare compared to the normal styles we are all familiar with. This special miniature is a rarity, completely composed of such crystals, to 2 cm, on contrasting matrix. One large group forms a pinwheel atop the specimen, with a single nearly 2 cm crystal laying right atop the pinwheel! It is a habit I have always loved, seldom seen, and almost always buy when the 1 in 100 specimen comes from any new area of pockets over the years.
