An unusual blue Smithsonite from a 2019 discovery, in which large plates like this were found. They are reminiscent of old material found in Laurium around the turn of the 1900s, which has rarely been seen since! The color is sparkly and bright, very similar to the vivid blue colors which came out of Mexico in the late 1990s from Sinaloa - and in fact if you saw this without a label, you would assume it to be Mexican. Note the interesting natural "growth" in the middle, surrounded by bands of oddly white Smithsonite amidst the blue (so really, this is a two-tined Smithsonite specimen).
