At 1.5 kilos, this is a hefty specimen of classic lavender, botryoidal smithsonite from this most famous of Mexican smithsonite finds. No smithsonite from ANY other location has such vivid and diverse color palettes, as the material from Choix. This probably came out through Benny Fenn, as it looks like the material he had in the late 1990s (I wish I had a time machine to go buy it all!) from his remaining work at the old location. Previous finds had more pink color, while Benny found this lavender, and blue material that rivalled Kelly Mine smithsonite as well. This is a huge, nearly undamaged (just a little bruising on the edges) specimen from the finds, and rare on the market today. The luster is velvety and shimmery, very beautiful.
