High, silky luster, a gemmy interior, and a sparkling surface all combine to give these Hilarion Mine specimens due cause for Greek collectors to refer to them as 'silver' Smithsonites. Individual botryoidal (rounded) growths reach an impressive 1.8 cm across, and the overall, raised cluster is 3 cm. The finely-textured surfaces, along with the luster, create a shimmer that is an integral factor in the beautiful, silvery visage. The clusters of chalk-white Calcite provide a nice contrast in form and color, and both species sit dramatically on the deep, brown-rust gossan matrix. Collected in 2014.
