A STUNNING Fluorite on Fluorite specimen from the fairly recent early-2022 finds at the Yangjia Mine in Wuyi County, Zhejiang Province, China. This location is known for these incredible golden-honey yellow Fluorites that look botryoidal or ball-like at first glance but actually are truly crystallized, just rounded in shape of the clusters. The unusual crystal habit that appears to be made up of multitudes of small octahedrons showing curved triangular faces is unique to this location. This sizable cabinet specimen has outstanding botryoidal coverage with significantly huge Fluorite botryoides, up to a massive 4.8 cm, giving the surface vertical relief and make the piece very three-dimensional. But it is the superior wet luster, almost liquid translucency and superb golden honey colored gemmy Flourites that just seem to emanate a radiant glow that makes this specimen so captivating and a memorable piece. All the Fluorites are in pristine condition, especially notable on the open and easy-to-damage top of the specimen, which is very 3-dimensional. There is only some small bruising on the one bottom cluster at the base, which in my opinion doesn't detract from the overall display of this special piece. It is unusually 3-dimensional, and a larger size than most all other fine quality specimens from the discovery. The back is sawn to remove mass, but interesting in that it is showing the multi-generational layers of purple and green Fluorite growth phases within - this was not a simple thing for nature to grow! This exceptional high quality Fluorite on Fluorite specimen with its museum size, wet luster, superior color, and beautiful aesthetics has it all! More of this quality have not come out since March of 2022 although some lesser specimens hit the market while ours waited in boxes to premiere online this fall.
