A classic of old European localities, these azurite "roses" from Chessy are now hard to come by. This is a perfect balanced rosette of crystals, a small miniature, with intense color that does not need strong light to flash its deep blue tones out. It has a bit of flow and curvature we do not always see on these, and has fairly good luster as well (these usually do not). The azurite from Chessy was best in the world for large crystals in the 1800s. While this may have come out then, there have also been a limited number of specimens found in modern re-mining of the centuries of mine dumps over the years.
