A truly sharp gem crystal of the ancient gemstone Peridot, often confused with emerald in ancient texts, is a thing of rarity. These come from more than two miles up the Pakistani Mountains, and from a very short window of time in each mining season when the deposit is accessible. It is not easy work! Complete crystals of this quality are rare enough, and most are (naturally) rounded. A sharp termination like this that comes to a point, is 1 in 1000. The fibrous and interesting black lines within are inclusions of the mineral ludwigite. Often, these are linear and straight. Here, they curve a bit, as if blown in the wind through green glass as it cooled — yielding a VERY interesting visual effect!
