Here is a textbook crystal of Mexican Andradite with superb luster and lovely stepped growth on the faces along with a cluster of smaller crystals. The large crystal measures 2.7 cm across and exhibits vividly lustrous, diamond-shaped dodecahedral faces only slightly modified by the trapezohedron, the small thin faces outlining the diamond shaped faces. Subtle, small, but distinct diamond-shaped geometric growth features are present on all of the faces of this Garnet. The large Andradite crystal is nicely accented by a small, compact group of over a dozen Andradites averaging 7 mm in size. There is some contacting on one side, the BAC23k and bottom, otherwise the preferred display orientation is pristine. Old material, from the 1960s or 1970s
