Hubnerite from this old Colorado mining locality is a rare old treasure, to many collectors. This unusually large, robust crystal would have come out in the 1960s or before, and came to market with the sale of the Don Boydston collection by Jon Seibel nearly 15 years ago. It then went into two other notable thumbnail collections (Allan specializing in sulfides and crystals in general; and Jim specializing in the finest of USA classics), before going into the USA suite of the Kyle Kevorkian collection. This is from the famed best-of USA-specific thumbnail collection of Jim Houran, sold in entirety to Kyle Kevorkian some years ago. It has not otherwise been on the public market in over a decade.
