This is a dramatic, showy specimen of galena with sprays of needle quartz from one of the world's best localities for this species, in Bulgaria. Multiple pristine, spinel-twinned galenas accent this cluster, with bright mirror-like luster. They are perched atop sharp, bright cuboctahedral crystals, and all stand three-dimensionally on a well-trimmed matrix that surprisingly for its size, displays rather elegantly. It's unusual to see specimens of this size from Borieva, as most are miniatures-to-cabinet sized. All edges are clean...This is a large-sized specimen from here, to be in this pristine condition and quality throughout. A requested feature in the 2022 "What's New in Minerals" article in The Mineralogical Record.
