This is a superb, scintillating large cabinet specimen from the ancient Trepca mine, featuring several dominant gunmetal gray bournonite crystals surrounded by glittering golden pyrite and lustrous black sphalerites. The main bournonite crystal reaches nearly 2.5cm (an inch!) across and is complete all around. A white dusting of calcite growth covers a portion of the specimen, though it likely could be removed if an owner wanted to experiment. This dramatic cabinet piece came out while friends were out trying to keep busy during Covid in 2020, a remarkable find in an old locality. The contrast and beauty of this pocket make the specimens significant to people who do not only collect "black sulfides", as they are gorgeous on a shelf.
