This matrix specimen is a significant thumbnail for the species, with a 1.6 cm powellite of amber color, stunning luster, and sharp gemmy termination nestled in a matrix of stilbite. This has to be one of the earliest (fine) powellites to come out of India, from a special pocket found in the mid-1980s. it was purchased by Ernie Schlichter from the previous collection of Michel Jouty, an old Frenchman with impeccable taste who had superb miniatures and thumbnails. Ernie passed this down to Shields Flynn, along with the core of the Schlichter thumbnail collection. To this day, 40 years almost, it remains a special and important specimen.
