Thumbnail, 1.4 x 1.3 x 0.7 cm
Ex. Ernest Schlichter
SOLD

A dramatic display specimen of Shigaite, with the rare iridescent coloration, perched on the sparkling rhodochrosite matrix that made this find famous. This pocket was found circa 2000 and this piece was purchased shortly after by well-known East Coast thumbnail specialist Ernie Schlicter. Ernie was Shields Flynn's friend and thumbnail mentor/competitor and passed on 300 of his favorite core specimens to Shields for this collection. It is a very dramatic, special aesthetic for the species, and a fine thumbnail worthy of any competitive exhibit.
