Golden yellow-green is an altogether different color for Prehnite from Tanzanian material; and this is a gorgeous piece! Clusters of translucent to transparent fans of gorgeous yellow-green Prehnite composed of crystals from 1 to almost 2 cm in size make up this exquisite piece. The crystals lustrous and display a faint satin luster on their side prism with the areas in between having an almost glassy luster. The crystals all come to tapering points, all of which are undamaged. The crystals are transparent on thin edges and transparent to translucent through the body of the piece to the point that you can see the shadow of anything underneath the piece which is devoid of any matrix. The golden yellow-green is almost candy-like in appearance! A truly lovely Prehnite from older finds in a region of Tanzania more famous for tanzanite than for any other associated species.
