Prehnite on Epidote
Djouga diggings, Bendougou village, Diakon, Kayes Region, Mali
Miniature, 4.6 x 3.8 x 3.4 cm
Ex. Rock Currier
SOLD

A nearly symmetrical sphere of gorgeous, translucent, lime green prehnite, measuring 3.5 cm across, nearly encloses earlier formed epidote crystals. This is just a balanced and really special miniature, clean and shapely when most are jumbly. This was one of the last pieces I got in an exchange with Rock Currier before he passed away. He was the main importer for this find, and kept a number of excellent pieces. Although there are larger examples, and more expensive ones, this piece just has a very appealing elegance to it, and is in perfect condition.
