This is an elegantly composed seafoam-green Prehnite specimen from Goboboseb, Namibia with a cluster of radial crystals perched upon a Calcite and Quartz matrix. One larger and several smaller, nearly spherical aggregates of translucent Prehnite are aesthetically placed on a whitish matrix of both Calcite and Quartz. The largest Prehnite sphere measures 3 cm across and the others range in size from 1.2 to 1.5 cm in maximum dimension, and there are also a few elongate sheaves of Prehnite scattered around the piece as well. The semitransparent, seafoam-green spherical aggregates are composed of tight, radial aggregates of thinly bladed Prehnite crystals, whereas the sheaves are essentially transparent and are more like elongate spindles. The collar of Calcite around the piece is made up of 4 to 6 mm, translucent, rhombohedral crystals with some 3 mm to 1 cm, glassy, transparent Quartz crystals mixed in. A very finely formed and subtly colorful combination Prehnite specimen from Goboboseb, and from the special Namibian collection of Charlie Key which says a lot, as he brought most of them to market in the early years! This is not big, not the most colorful, but it is among the most elegant.
