Another fantastic and unique miniature from the Jeffrey Mine in Canada, from the Charlie Key prehnite collection! Five, very sharply formed, saddle-shaped, two-toned tan, lustrous crystals of Prehnite are are set on, and among, patches of finely crystalline, bright green Diopside crystal aggregates. These Prehnite crystals are exceptional as they are a translucent to locally transparent, two-toned tan, ranging in size from 0.9 and 1.7 cm and have fantastic luster! The color ranges from a pleasing tan in the center and throughout much of the crystal with a slight smoky tan hue at their edges. The luster is remarkable in that they are very glassy and reflective with the bright luster curving around the saddle-shaped crystals as you rotate the piece for stunning affect! The small patches of sparkling, tiny green Diopside crystals in between the Prehnite crystals add great contrast and aesthetics. They are quite remarkable for a combination of their size, unique saddle shape, high luster and translucency. Fine crystals of Prehnite like this are very rare from the Jeffrey Mine, or anywhere for that matter!
