A pair of very translucent to almost gem, luscious green Prehnite ellipses dominate this alluring piece from the Goboboseb Mountains. Both clusters are 3 cm in maximum dimension and exhibit a sublime satin luster, however, their surface textures are different. One botryoid distinctly shows the terminations of of a myriad of crystals around the outside rim (edge on view) that subtly scintillate with incident light, the other one has a much smoother texture on the round face (face on view) and does show aggregated crystal terminations along its edge. Backlighting shows that they are both gemmy at their interiors. A third, smaller, mostly complete Prehnite group is present on one end and its smoothly sheared surface displays the radial divergent interior of the Prehnite sphere typical of these. These lovely Prehnite spheres sit on a light colored matric of Calcite and Quartz. And, it is from the personal collection of the legendary dealer who really opened up Africa and literally was regarded as the top dealer and collector coming out of Africa for decades. He sourced it there himself, from his home in Swakopmund.
