This is a very fine stacked, columnar grouping of Vesuvianite crystals from Mali. There are at least a dozen Vesuvianite crystals piled up in parallel or nearly parallel growth on this atypical specimen with translucent, brownish green crystals ranging anywhere from just less than a centimeter up to 3.9 cm. The blocky Vesuvianites have great luster and prominent tetrahedral crystal form with secondary prism modifications and perfect pyramidal terminations. The crystals are pretty well isolated in the stack which is very statuesque and attractive. Minor contacting at the base which was the point of attachment and it's complete all around 360 degrees. Ex. Demetrius Pohl collection - Demetrius was involved in the discovery, mining, and export of these things nearly 20 years ago in his role as a geological consultant, who was on the spot when they came out. He cherry picked some special things and kept them all this time. This is from his personal collection and is among best in size class, and unique compared to other localities as well.
