This specimen is one of the more unique blue Prehnite pieces we acquired several years ago due to its association with Tanzanite and some minor Diopside. Sheaves of iceberg-blue, bladed Prehnite crystals to nearly 2 cm are openly intergrown on this showy and unusual piece from Tanzania. The blue Prehnites have some minor whitish highlights and a recess between groups of crystals reveals a bluish to yellow-green, lustrous, gemmy, 1 cm Tanzanite crystal! Another surprise on one side of the piece is a pair of mostly complete, pale yellow-green, lustrous, translucent Diopside crystals. To round out the association, tiny (less than 1 mm) flakes of black Graphite are sprinkled locally, especially in one area in the back. This piece has the finest blue color and superb luster and the associations make it noteworthy. The Prehnite crystals are sharp and essentially damage free.
