Here we have a totally transparent gem crystal of Despujolsite from the best-of-species pocket/find/locality in the world for the mineral, the N'Chwaning III Mine in South Africa. This tabular, vibrant, lime-green crystal is 1.3 cm in maximum dimension and exhibits sharp, lustrous crystal faces and bright yellow-green internal reflections. This crystal is so gemmy and well-formed with vibrant green-yellow color it almost looks like a gemstone! It is complete all around except for the backside where it was attached another crystal. What a gorgeous gem example of this very rare, hydrated calcium-manganese sulfate! The color is simply unearthly, and looks radioactive and fake, but is quite natural. This was one pocket, approximately late 2012 or early '13. We bought probably 95% of the pocket at the time directly from the source. Most sold, but we found a very few left, in reserve, from all those years ago. Again, the COLOR is simply...unique.
