Before a single pocket in around 2015, this species was known from micros and small ugly crystals. A single pocket produced a group of amazing, neon green crystals, of which we obtained nearly all at the time, and provided this specimen to Alex for his superb suite of crystallized examples of rare species. It is a flattened crystal showing a pseudo-hexagonal form and exquisite finely serrated edges. This is a fine piece because it gives the illusion of being a matrix specimen due to inclusions (manganese?) at its base, forming a natural pedestal for this competition-quality crystal atop. Most such crystals are just singles, gemmy or not, but have no such look to them in that regard. Posted on The Arkenstone 9-6-15: “Despujolsite, $1,800.00, N'Chwaning III Mine, Kalahari, South Africa. Thumbnail, 1.3 x 1.1 x 0.3 cm. One of the largest crystals in the lot, with a huge presentation face and intense coloration. Terminated on about half the edges, contacted on the rest, it nevertheless displays well and is of museum caliber in terms of its importance.” We never had another pocket - that was it! And, Alex was among the first to buy them from us at the time, so we are happy to have it back now.
