This is a cute and unusual thumbnail classic Burmese Tourmaline that exhibits a Schorl core with an Elbaite exterior. It has a opaque, black, Schorl Tourmaline interior with a dark, raspberry pink Elbaite exterior and the transition between the two as observed from the contacted bottom is abrupt. The crystal has a slightly developed "mushroom cap", yet still has the distinctive, tight parallel growth of crystals that come to a point at the termination. Great color and luster from the 1990s.
