The Larson Burma collection preserves a cross-section of the classics that came out in the 1980s, 1990s, and early 2000s. This is from the iconic finds of the late 1990s, and is another very fine Burmese "mushroom cap" Tourmaline. This is a superb, competition level thumbnail with excellent, rich raspberry red color. As with the miniature version above in this listing, this too has a Schorl core with an Elbaite exterior, and a portion of the Schorl core is actually exposed on the backside. The Elbaites have great luster that scintillates from the composite crystals that make up the mushroom cap. There is no coating or clay to compromise this stunning thumbnail; it radiates brilliant color. Superb! In his opinion, for overall aesthetics and condition, it was one of the best thumbnails of the style at the time he brought them out to the West.
