An alluring and unusually colored Fluorite specimen from the Yaogangxian Mine, a mine that produces a variety of Fluorite specimens in a seemingly inexhaustible variety of colors. And yet, this is something new and different, even after all these years of watching the location! This piece consists of several, transparent, bright, sea-green Fluorite cubes that display subtle zoning. The larger, more isolated crystal measures 3 cm on its longest edge and the others are somewhat smaller and more tightly clustered. The large crystal is completely transparent to the point that the Calcite in the back of the crystal can be easily discerned; it's completely water-clear! Thin, less than 1 mm parallel, consecutive zones are evident in the outer 1 cm portion of the crystal while the central portion is completely clear without zones. The other Fluorites are in a cluster off to the left side and are just slightly paler green in color and the zones are more subtle. The Fluorite crystals are embellished with starkly contrasting, white Calcite. The Calcite consists of 2 to 5 mm, platy crystals in tight groupings that selectively blanket portions of the Fluorite crystals for perfect composition. Traces of granular Pyrite are found on the back side of the piece along with a small area of purple Fluorite. A really unusual specimen with color that leaps out, shape, and subtle beauty inside. This was a special pocket from 2019.
