Bright canary-yellow crystals of Jouravskite and sprays of pink Oyelite grace a blanket of white Xonotlite, for exceptional contrast! The Kalahari Manganese Field has produced well-crystallized examples of many rare and unusual species for decades and this colorful example of three rare species is no exception! The stunning, bright yellow Jouravskite occurs as rounded clusters composed of bladed crystals from a few millimeters to 1.5 cm, which is large for the species, and moreover beautiful because they are isolated on the white, finely crystalline matrix. Jouravskite is a super rare hydrated calcium-manganese sulfate-carbonate that is found at only a handful of localities worldwide and the N'Chwaning Mines of South Africa have produced the best! This particular pocket from 2017 is certainly the best single discovery, and I bought nearly all of it at the time. A superb example for these three species, and a display specimen with shocking lemon yellow color as a bonus!
