Ex. James and Dawn Minette; Shields and Frances Flynn
SOLD

Previously in the renowned Thumbnail collection of Dawn & Jim Minette, this outstanding thumbnail features an excellent freestanding 1.3-cm Olivenite crystal on matrix. This unusually robust crystal has classic, curved faces, very good luster, and a rich, deep green color. Even with the color so deep, you can appreciate the quality of the crystal by observing the green glow from just under the surface when lit. The matrix consists of Quartz crystals, Beudantite, and tiny crystals of what are said to be Lukrahnite (for which Tsumeb is the TYPE LOCALITY). I did not analyze this, but the label is from Chris Amo, and Bill Pinch helped him with his Tsumeb and affirmed the identity of the rares in the collection. Previously, these were labelled as tsumcorites, it seems. Olivenite from Tsumeb ranks among the world's finest, and in combination with the other species makes this a tremendous specimen for any collection, thumbnail collector or Tsumeb collector.
