Highly representative for this rare arsenate species, the Ludlockite in this germanium ore practically jumps out at you the color is so intense. These sprays of bright, coppery, red-orange Ludlockite are felt-like to acicular, and they occupy several vugs within the Germanite matrix. Tsumeb is the TYPE LOCALITY, and there were only two major finds that we know of. In addition to the massive Germanite, there are also small white Leiteite crystals in association. All things considered, this is a fairly rich specimen, and the crystals are nicely protected. Ludlockite is one of those 'Holy Grail' Tsumeb species for which the mine is renowned.
