Tennantite
Tsumeb Mine, Tsumeb, Oshikoto Region, Namibia

Choice specimen of Tennantite that, to my eye, is one of the more interesting and elegant that I have seen from Tsumeb. This first-rate miniature consists of central stalk of Galena and Tennantite, with a very aesthetic cluster of much larger, up to 2.2 cm, Tennantites girdling the stalk. These intergrown Tennantites are well-formed with beveled edges and a rich, attractive, teal patina. Tetragonal crystals are always interesting in form, but the habit, patina, and overall geometry of the piece takes the interest level and aesthetics to a high level.
