A very rich, three-dimensional specimen with thick, translucent, botryoidal plumbogummite of high quality, completely coating a rocky matrix. Large and fine, this piece is in excellent condition save some very minor damage around the periphery and some isolated minor bruising. It is a large plate with unusually even coverage and excellent translucent bubbles of medium blue color. Specimens of this size and larger without damage to the core display area were few and far between. The best of them with this color came out around 2014-2015, and have not been seen since on the market. In places around the edges, the underlying bright yellow-green pyromorphite is revealed along with the white to off-white matrix. A superb display specimen! China redefined the species with this find. If this were Old English, it would be a $50,000 piece, and probably not so well coated or colorful. This used to be a rare species, which few could own. While different, the Chinese specimens are not so different that one cannot but compare them favorably to the 200-year-old British classics - and display them with more impact.
