GEM19-39
Elbaite Tourmaline
Santa Rosa Mine, Minas Gerais, Brazil
Cabinet, 12.1 x 1.7 x 1.6 cm
SOLD

An exceptional rarity from a modern find at an old mine, this cluster of parallel crystals is very castle-like and dramatic atop. It is TOTALLY CLEAN AND GEMMY, transparent and not just translucent, in a way that so few tourmalines are. This glassy and gemmy, emerald-green elbaite specimen is highlighted by two sidecars flanking the main crystal, which measures 11.6 cm in length. Dramatic and beautiful! It has only one repair on a sidecar, small crystal. Most of this pocket went for cutting rough, and few specimens were saved (in approx 2017), of which this was one of the major specimens. The mass is 58 grams.
